Dr Volker Güntzel was born in Nuremberg in 1972 and studied law in Erlangen. From 2002 to 2006, he worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Corporate, Tax and Labour Law at the University of Würzburg. During this time, he completed an intensive course in ‘Business Administration and Business Management’ at the Fernuniversität Hagen, graduating with a degree in Business Administration (IWW), and obtained his doctorate in labour law on the subject of the European Company.
Dr Volker Güntzel practises nationwide in the field of franchise and distribution law and has been advising exclusively on behalf of franchisors and manufacturers for more than 15 years on the establishment and management of franchise and distribution systems.

Dr Volker Güntzel has been advising and representing franchisors and manufacturers for more than 15 years on the establishment and management of franchise and distribution systems. His areas of expertise include the protection of systems, the defence of intellectual property, the enforcement of interests in both judicial and extrajudicial disputes, strategic system consultancy, and the drafting of contracts.
